Is the heading of this post just old news, I viewed the picture above today on a social media site and couldn’t stop thinking about it. It’s morally disgusting.
I have never been in a position that I didn’t have a roof over my head or my next meal. I have however had tough times in my life like we all have. The United States Of America is currently in an election cycle, reportedly 86 million people watched the Presidential debate on Monday night. Neither candidate talked about poverty or homelessness. There isn’t anything more important than human life is there, IMHO.

In one of the Rocky movies (4) Sylvester Stallone goes back to the basics of training, lifting logs, running through the snow etc. Sporting teams and companies go back to basics. They take away all the fancy shit and just start using common sense and the old fashion ways.

The Rocky going back to basics concept I think should be a big plan in the politician’s plans, and what I mean by this is our world needs some back to basics thinking. Why do we as people condone the current concept? That concept being a percentage of our citizens will be poor, unemployed and living on the street. While I am on a rant why does the White House throw lavish parties costing thousands to hundreds of thousands of dollars when people are living and starving in the streets. Should we be electing candidates because of how much money they have to buy enough ads to pound there name and message into the public?
Are we brainwashed to think that a political party spending hundreds of millions of dollars to discredit another person is okay?
Maybe just maybe it’s time to put a limit on political spending to run for office, an amount of money that any smart, honest, integrity-rich person could compete and win.
I am most likely dreaming but it’s the thought that counts.
